Chartwell Bowmanville Creek is perfectly located on the edge of Bowmanville’s historic and vibrant downtown neighbourhood. Surrounded by beautiful older homes, mature trees, and steps away from the banks of its namesake creek, as well as beautiful Rotary Park, our residence is within walking distance or a quick drive to almost every kind of amenity you could need and want. Stroll north one block and you are downtown, with a wonderful choice of coffee shops, eateries, shops, services, library, and the farmer’s market. Bowmanville Mall is minutes away with a Metro and Shopper’s Drug Mart. The Bowmanville Health Centre clinic and Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Hospital are also under 10 minutes away. Bowmanville is also 10 minutes away from the 400 series highways, including the 401, 418, and 407, and Toronto is reachable in under an hour.   

Things to do in Bowmanville   

Whether you’re looking for boutique shopping, historic charm, park festivals or forest trails, you’ll find it all in pretty Bowmanville. Attend a free summer concert at Rotary Park: bring a picnic and enjoy weekly performances from mid-June through to September. See a fish ladder: right behind Rotary Park, find the trail that leads to the Bowmanville Dam, where you can see fish swimming upstream to spawn in the spring and fall. Sip some cider: Archibald’s Orchard & Estate Winery is a family farm, offering fruit wine and cider tastings. Catch a sunset over Lake Ontario: the views from Port Darlington’s Beach in Darlington Provincial Park are stunning, and it’s also a spot to see Monarch butterflies migrating in late summer. Watch cars go very fast: if you are a fan of Formula One racing, keep an eye on the schedule at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. Have fun at the fair: the Orono Fair is a classic September fall fair with agricultural exhibits, food, and music. Take in a fascinating slice of history: Bowmanville is home to Camp 30, a prisoner of war camp for German officers in WWII, and the self-guided tour is a must-do. Learn more about the past: Tyrone Mills is a restored flour mill, bakery, general store, and definitely worth a visit for its apple cider donuts!
